I'm BAAAAAACK! (With lots and lots of pics)

Sorry I haven't updated in a month. I'd like to say I've been way too busy but the fact is that I'm simply lazy.
So, to recap what has happened to me in the past month:
I went home for October break, which was fun. Then I went to Rhinebeck, which was awesome! I love me some sheep!
Then I came back to Vassar, and this past weekend my friends from home came up and went to the Halloween dance. Sam wore her Slytherin vest that I knit her!

Doesn't it look so good? I was so proud of myself!

Also, I knit some CHERIE AMOUR!!!! I've been lazy and have procrastinated on knitting the sleeves (same with BFC). Here's some progress pics though:

The main body is done, so that's great. Sorry about the pink bra in the pics. I get lazy sometimes!

Then there's my Rainbow socks in some Regia 4 ply. I cast these on right before I left for October break, knit them on the train, knit them at Rhinebeck, knit them at the Ravelry party, then shamefully cast them aside for my other socks (I have some serious knitting ADD). Here's a progress shot though:

Also I started Eunny Jang's Entrelac Socks in some Cherry Tree Hill yarn I bought at Rhinebeck. They are gorgeous!!!!!

And finally, two FOs. These are Breeze socks in Patons Grace. Fresh off the needles (actually I finished them last night!) for Sockdown October on Ravelry:

And Tychus, for Sarah, in lime Simply Soft!

Next up: Scheherezade's Slippers for Sam (she's playing that role in Arabian Nights), Child's First Sock by Nancy Bush, and I'm sure tons more socks. I leave you with these lovely cookies that my friend Jess made and me in my Halloween costume!

Happy Halloween!

Startitis!

Yes, I finally caught Startitis off of Ravelry. Actually I only started one new item so far. It's the Fake Isle Hat from Magknits! My first normal Fair Isle project (meaning not intarsisle, which is my own weird mix of Fair Isle and intarsia):

Please ignore my weird faces. It was late at night.

I finished the body of my BFC. You can't tell because I should have had someone take a pic of it instead of trying to do it myself. Here are some cable shots though!

I've had quite a few tests this week (I had two today, hopefully I did well on both), so I've been knitting to take my mind off of the stress. One more tomorrow (Linear Algebra...ahhh!) and a paper due Thursday. And then I'm free (ok I still have work, but I have October break in two weeks, so I will actually be free!). I'd like to finish my BFC and Cherie Amour (casting on as soon as BFC is finished) finished by the time I get home. Also I need to get some buttons for the BFC at home, but that shouldn't be a problem. Depending on the weather I will most likely wear one of the sweaters to Rhinebeck!!!! Should be exciting, since I've never been there before.

Anyway, I have class in half an hour so I better go grab a frozen yogurt or something =)

Gimme more...

The title of this post is referencing the Britney Spears song...but I think it's fitting. Because really, I know that secretly all the readers of this blog (ok, that's a total of 1, my mother) are chanting "Gimme more FOs, yarn, needles, etc."

And I'm never one to disappoint, so here are pictures of my newest FO: Wendyknits' Cabletini socks!

I finished them last night and gave them to my grandma this morning. It was parent's weekend at Vassar and my parents and grandparents came up. It was nice to see everyone, because I missed them dearly!
More pictures of course on my flickr and ravelry (user name for both knitwitted).

Here's what I call the "One Day Cardigan" a.k.a. Best Friend Cardigan from Twinkle Big City Knits. It's not finished yet but this is what I did in one day:

It goes by so fast! It should be done by the end of the week (I have quite a few tests and papers due this week, otherwise it would be done today or tomorrow).

And here's a special treat, a picture of me that has nothing to do with knitting!

Last night was "Dormal Fourmal" (four dorms hosted it, and one of them was mine!) and I got all dressed up! I love this dress, it's Rugby but I got it about 30% off! It does stick out funny on the side but you can't really tell at all.

Next up on the list: Isabeau in some pink Patons Grace I've been dying to get rid of (I can't believe I bought it at all!), Cherie Amour in blue Bernat Softee Chunky, and a self-designed cabled sweater (perhaps a knockoff of this). Until next time, I will be studying hard for my upcoming tests! Wish me luck!

The best thing about being a woman...

...is the ability to change your mind whenever you want.

What I'm referring to is the fact that I keep changing the potential recipients of my knitted items. For example, I was knitting myself these cabled socks (pattern is Cabletini from WendyKnits):

But then I remembered that my grandma's birthday is this week. And she's coming to visit next weekend (which is Parent's Weekend), so I couldn't just get away with a phone call. And even though she's not exactly a "normal" grandmother, she has recently sent me some really sweet letters and is paying for my college experience (and bought me a mini-fridge when my roommate moved out...long story). So I decided that the homemade socks would go to her instead, granted I finish them in time. I have all next week to work on them, and hopefully I won't have too much more work (I'm supposed to be doing it now. Yes I know it is Friday, but I'm exhausted and I don't want to have to do it next week) to finish.

Here are some more pictures of sock-in-progress:

Also here are updated pictures of my i-cord gloves, the hats I'm making for innocent drinks (check out this for more information), the ribbed lace bolero, and my death eater scarf(which, in the spirit of mind changing, I have decided to give to my friend Sarah, not Sam):

I'm sorry the background of the pics are so messy, my desk is a mess and I take a lot of pics on the computer.

Anyway, waiting in the wings is Cherie Amour, Patti, and the Best Friend Cardigan. I still need to finish the socks first though!

It's kind of late now...

But I'll post anyway. I'm going to put a bunch of pics in this post because I have an FO (yay!) and a couple wips that are coming along nicely.

My jaywalkers are finished! One is bigger than the other, and they don't match at all, but they are beautiful and Seongbeen will love them!! More pics on my flickr account (the name is knitwitted)

Here are my wips of the moment: the I-cord gloves made from Nona's pattern (she's got the best patterns!) and the Vassar Entrelac scarf

Again, a few more on the flickr. Last but not least is the Death Eater Illusion Scarf I started today. Here's what it will look like when it's finished!

I'm excited because today I went to Michael's and got all sorts of yarn (Patons SWS! It was the first Michael's I had ever been in that carried it!) and stuff to print on t-shirts, so I'm feeling rather crafty. I better go now, as it is 1:15 a.m.

Much love,
A.Co
